Don’t re-invent the wheel!

When it comes to effective and efficient project management, good document management is essential. However it all starts with having the right documents in place to assist with this. The right amount of documentation is also important … whether it be for reporting purposes, documenting the project risks and issues, or for the all important task of effective management of the project plan or schedule.

The time poor project manager and project management team will often use templates for this purpose. The use of ready-made, task specific templates will allow the project manager to more effectively leverage whatever time is available, to make more effective use of it.

Project management document templates also provides project teams with an effective means of capturing standardized project processes and procedures. If there is any doubt or uncertainty about how to proceed with regard to a stage of the project or an issue, the team can refer to the template documents for guidance as to the next steps.

There are many useful template suppliers. A few are added below. Click on the example and you will be taken to the relevant site:

Australian Psychological Society – Cairns

Working with the Cairns chapter of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) was a great experience. There were many experiences shared and new insights gained into working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the mental health context. It was particularly interesting to observe the extent to which this profession is adapting in order to engage effectively with the indigenous stakeholder group. It is encouraging to see an organisation striving to actually effectively implement its Reconciliation Action Plan. Well done APS … looking forward to working with you again.

Knowledge sharing opportunities

Leading Practice is establishing a new relationship with Aronel Pty Ltd and the Australian Psychological Society. This is a great opportunity to share knowledge and experience about effective engagement with Indigenous stakeholders.

Cairns Indigenous Art Fair

The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (or CIAF) has kicked off here in Cairns. Best wishes and best of luck to all the indigenous artists participating this year. Its already shaping up to be a fantastic event.
